ORPHANS OF PANDEMIC
Global Orphanhood caused by COVID-19
Millions of children have become orphans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Orphans of the Pandemic
With the advent of the pandemic, what followed was a trail of destruction and family tragedies, of loss of life followed by a worldwide financial crisis. The most affected were the third world countries, poor and without financial resources, especially the South American nations.
The somber portrait of this new reality are the families that lost the battle to the virus, which took with them the parents, their only providers, and along with them, the future and hope of thousands of children, left by fate to their own luck.
Although the State, through orphanages, tries to alleviate this sad reality, the orphans of the pandemic, in the current situation in which they find themselves, will never have the opportunity to face the job market in a competitive way, without the financial structure and psychological support provided by the family unit.
The purpose of this social action in Brazil is to provide a minimum of resources for the dignity of these children abandoned by fate, providing primary needs on four fronts; the basics in food, clothing, school supplies and infrastructure, such as bed, table and bath. Seeking to follow the direction indicated by the state bodies responsible for monitoring these souls, to provide what is most urgent and necessary for these needy children, aiming to preserve their dignity and well-being.
It is worth noting that fun and toys serve to build a psychologically healthy and balanced childhood, but their purchase is not feasible, due to more urgent needs, although with the dissemination of the project, the idea is to carry out awareness actions in the media and social networks , with the aim of collecting used toys, which can provide a small injection of joy.
Our goal is to reach out as many children as we can.
As Brazil struggles to care for COVID-19 orphans, Brazilcares Inc., with your help tries to help using local church and agencies.
Brazil is dealing with the needs of more than 130,000 children who have been made orphans by the unexpected deaths of parents or caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Brazilian social service infrastructure provides a number of possibilities to assist new orphans, including distribution of food kits to economically impoverished relatives taking custody of children.
"Children that have lost their parents or caretakers and go live in a shelter face a shocking experience and besides, the process of taking a child out of a shelter when a solution is finally found is much more bureaucratic than all other alternatives.
The orphaned children of the pandemic is isolated and disorientated in an unknown territory. They have no home, no parents, no food and no direction and fear of what can happen to them.
In these desperate times, churches and local communities are offering companionship, strength and hope, and keeping them grounded and connected. Brazilcares Inc., will use all funding we receive to develop a network of support and helping them in this uncertainty time of sadness.
